Skiers, snowboarders, and snowsports enthusiasts of all ages—get ready for JibberFest, a brand-new snowsports event tour hitting Atlantic Canada!


Join us at Mont Farlagne in Edmundston, NB, for an action-packed Family Day weekend (Feb 15-16, 2025). This high-energy event brings together riders from across Eastern Canada and Maine for an unforgettable weekend of competition and community.


With 1,400 feet of vertical, 16 trails, two terrain parks, a bunny hill, and a quad chairlift, Mont Farlagne is the perfect venue for a weekend of thrills.


Compete in Ski/Boarder Cross, Banked Slalom, Rail Jam, and Big Air, open to both skiers and snowboarders. Plus, enjoy daily festivities throughout the weekend.

What is JibberFest?

JibberFest is a new snowsports event tour in Atlantic Canada for skiers, snowboarders & snowsport enthusiasts of all ages. This winter, join us as we make stops at Mont Farlagne, NB and Wentworth, NS. Whether you're looking to compete, spectate, or simply soak in the vibrant atmosphere, JibberFest promises an unforgettable experience. In addition to daily festivities, our event formats include fun-packed comps like Ski/Boarder Cross, Banked Slalom, Rail Jam, and Big Air. Registration & Age Divisions

To ensure quality, there is a capacity on registration. Early online registration is strongly encouraged. In-person registration is subject to capacity and may not be available on event day.


Age Divisions:


  • Mini GROM (U11)

  • GROM (U13)

  • Youth (U18)

  • Open (18+)

  • Legends (40+)


Notes:


  • Ages are as of February 15th 2025.

  • There is both a Female and Male category for all divisions.

  • There is both a Ski & Snowboard category for all divisions.

  • Mini GROM or GROM competitors wanting to participate on the larger courses for the Rail Jam or Big Air must register for the YOUTH division.

  • Competitors must sign an Event Waiver before participating in any events.

  • Certified helmets are mandatory for all training and competitions.

Banked Slalom Details & Schedule

A Banked Slalom is a classic race rooted in snowboard and ski culture, celebrating speed, precision, and flow. Competitors navigate a winding course with tight, banked turns that test their agility and control. Each competitor completes two runs, with the best time counting toward the final results. This event highlights both skill and style, embodying the camaraderie and competition that define snow sports.


The top three competitors in each division for each discipline & gender will be recognized.

Rail Jam Details Details & Schedule

A rail jam is a freestyle ski and snowboard competition where competitors showcase their creativity and skills on a course with rails and boxes, but no jumps. Competitors can drop as many times as they want within the time limit to experiment and perfect their tricks. Judging focuses on overall impression, considering difficulty, execution, style, and flow.


The main competition will feature a deck of at least three rail options (medium to extra-large) and one box, designed to challenge various skill levels.


The Mini GROM and GROM divisions divisions will compete on a smaller, beginner-friendly course in the Snowpark, with at least three features, including small boxes and entry-level rails, tailored to younger or less experienced competitors.


The top three competitors in each division for each discipline & gender will be recognized based on creativity, execution, and difficulty. Special recognition will be given for best overall trick and best bail, recognizing the most technical, stylish, or daring maneuvers and attempts across the entire field.

Competitors who participated in the banked slalom do not need to check in again.

Snowboard/Ski Cross Details & Schedule

Snowboard/ski cross is an adrenaline-filled event where multiple competitors (typically four) race head-to-head down a dynamic course featuring banked turns, jumps, berms, drops, and other challenging features. The race combines speed, strategy, and skill as competitors compete for the fastest finish. This high-energy event fosters a competitive yet supportive atmosphere, making it a favorite among both spectators and participants.


For the YOUTH, OPEN, and LEGEND divisions, each competitor will complete a solo timed run, which will be used to seed heats of up to four competitors. The top two from each heat will advance to the next round, continuing in brackets until reaching the Big Final and Small Final in each division for each discipline. Every competitor will get at least one timed run and one run in a heat.


For the MINI GROM and GROM divisions, each competitor will run the course individually, with two competitor per competitor. The best time from the two runs will be used for the final results.


The top three competitors in each division for each discipline & gender will be recognized.

Big Air Details & Schedule

Big air is a freestyle ski and snowboard competition where competitors showcase their best tricks on jumps, without rails or boxes. Competitors can take as many or as few runs as they choose within the allotted time. Judging is based on overall impression, considering difficulty, execution, style, and amplitude.


The event will take place in the Snowpark, featuring a single deck of jumps with at least two size options—a 20ft and a 40ft jump (subject to change based on snow conditions). The Mini GROM & GROM divisions will compete on a smaller set of jumps, including a small tabletop and a 10ft jump (also subject to snow conditions).


Awards will be given to the top three competitors in each division for each discipline & gender based on overall impression.

Age & Skill Level

Skiers and snowboarders of any age or skill level are welcome at JibberFest. Whether you are 6 or 78, new or seasoned, there is a division for you!

Accomodations and Lift Tickets

A room block has been set up at the Best Western Edmundston for $150/room + HST. Includes two queen beds, breakfast and access to a pool, waterslide, hot tub, fitness & business centre. Contact the hotel directly at (506) 739-0000 and let them know you're with Maritime Jibbers Snowboard Club.


Mont Farlagne has generously offered a discounted rate on lift tickets for event participants. To redeem, present your JibberFest event bib at the ticket desk when purchasing your lift ticket. Lift tickets are not included with event registration fees.

The Edmundston region is located in northwestern New Brunswick in Madawaska County.
